Ben Ling, Dave Morin, Ruchi Sanghvi & Josh Elman from the Facebook Platform team will field and discuss all the development issues and ideas you’d like to learn more about.

Benjamin Ling


Benjamin is the Director of Platform Product Marketing at Facebook, where he
oversees product marketing, developer operations and partner solutions for
Facebook Platform. Prior to Facebook, Benjamin was the General Manager of
eCommerce at Google, where he founded and led Google Checkout and
oversaw Google Product Search. At Google, he managed a cross functional
team that included product, engineering, sales, marketing, operations, finance
and legal. Benjamin holds a Ph.D. and master’s degree in computer science
from Stanford University and a bachelor’s degree from the university of
California at Berkeley.

Dave Morin


Dave Morin is the Senior Platform Manager at Facebook, where he is responsible for
the company’s platform strategy and further expanding the Facebook developer
community. Dave joined Facebook from Apple, where he became the Manger of
Creation & Collaboration technologies after his tenure as Manager of Student
Marketing. Prior to Apple, Dave founded the company Viadi a technology and
marketing company focused on building strong brand experiences using the power of
the Internet. Dave received a bachelor’s degree in economics and business from the
University of Colorado at Boulder.

Ruchi Sanghvi


Ruchi Sanghvi is the Principal Product Manager at Facebook, where she
oversees Facebook Platform and News Feed. She is responsible for the
company’s Platform product strategy and new product initiatives. Ruchi was an
early engineer at Facebook and is one of the primary developers for News
Feed. Prior to Facebook, she was a software engineer in the Real Time
Communication Group at Oracle. Ruchi holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree
in electrical computer engineering from Carnegie Mellon University.

Josh Elman


Josh Elman is a Platform Program Manager at Facebook, where he focuses on
new initiatives and programs for developers on Facebook Platform. Previously,
Josh was Head of Product Management at Zazzle, where he led the
development of Zazzle’s marketplace and commerce platform. Prior to Zazzle,
Josh worked at LinkedIn, where he helped grow the business network from
200,000 to 3 million users. Josh began his career at RealNetworks, where he
led the development team through three versions of RealPlayer. Josh holds a
bachelor’s degree in symbolic systems from Stanford University.

Dave McClure has been geeking out in Silicon Valley for almost twenty years as a software developer, entrepreneur, startup advisor, angel investor, blogger, & internet marketing nerd.

Dave is the conference chair for Graphing Social Patterns, and a co-chair for Web 2.0 Expo. He has been a guest lecturer at Stanford University for the nation’s first-ever course on building Facebook Apps.

From 2005 to 2006, Dave launched and ran marketing for job search engine Simply Hired, and its evil twin Simply Fired. From 2001 to 2004, Dave worked at PayPal as Director of Marketing, where he started the PayPal Developer Network program. In 1994 he founded Aslan Computing, an internet and e-commerce firm later acquired by Servinet/Panurgy in 1998.

Before coming to Silicon Valley, Dave barely graduated from the Johns Hopkins University with a BS in Mathematical Sciences Engineering and a minor in frisbee, billiards, and foosball. For more info see Dave’s blog: Master of 500 Hats .
