Ian Cross is the founder and CEO of I-SITE, an award-winning interactive design and marketing firm based in Philadelphia. He has led the company from a start-up to a nationally recognized firm with a broad range of clients that include National Dairy Council, Anacostia Watershed Society, Virunga National Park and Deloitte,
With a background in ergonomics, marketing and entrepreneurship, Ian is highly active in the Philadelphia region’s economic development community. He co-founded PANMA, the Philadelphia New Media Association, and has served on the boards of a number of regional organizations focused on the creative economy. He currently chairs the Creative Economy Committee of Philadelphia Mayor Nutter’s Cultural Advisory Council.
Born and raised in England, Ian holds a degree in Ergonomics from Loughborough University. He serves on the boards of the Greater Philadelphia British American Business Council as Vice President of Communications, The Welcoming Center for New Pennsylvanians and the Multicultural Youth exchange, an arts-education nonprofit he co-founded in 2002 with his wife Josette Bonafino.

Paolo Gaudiano is President and CTO of Icosystem, where he enjoys solving tough business and technology problems for clients, while striving to make sure Icosystem continues to be an awesome place to work. After several years in academia (at Boston University), Paolo gave up tenure to follow his entrepreneurial spirit. After being involved with two start-ups, he found in Icosystem the perfect place to nourish his interdisciplinary and multifaceted interests. He also continues to feed his addiction to teaching through a position as Senior Lecturer at The Gordon Institute of Tufts University.
Patrick Meier is the Director of Crisis Mapping at Ushahidi and the co-founder of the International Network of Crisis Mappers. He previously co-founded and co-directed Harvard University’s (HHI) Program on Crisis Mapping and Early Warning. He has consulted for many international organizations including the UN, OSCE and OECD on numerous crisis mapping and conflict early warning projects in Africa, Asia and Europe. Patrick is a recognized expert and thought leader on the intersection between new technologies, early warning, civil resistance, human rights and humanitarian response. He has written extensively on these topics and has presented his work at numerous high-profile conferences worldwide. Patrick is also completing his PhD at The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University and is currently a Visiting Fellow at Stanford University’s Program on Liberation Technologies. He has an MA in International Affairs from Columbia University and is an alum of the Sante Fe Institute’s (SFI) Complex Systems Program. Patrick blogs at iRevolution.net.
Lukas Biewald is the founder and chief data scientist of CrowdFlower, a data enrichment platform that taps into an on-demand workforce to help companies collect training data and do human-in-the-loop machine learning. Previously, he led the Search Relevance team for Yahoo Japan and worked as a senior data scientist at Powerset. Lukas was recognized by Inc. magazine as a 30 under 30. Lukas holds a BS in mathematics and an MS in computer science from Stanford University. He is also an expert Go player.
