A-Space is a virtual work environment intended to provide analysts across the Intelligence Community with a common platform to do their research and analysis and easily connect with colleagues working the same or similar issues to collaboratively achieve mission objectives. When mature A-Space will provide a range of capabilities that allows an analysts to search and discover new information to support analytic research, maintain situational awareness, sort and visualize data to draw out analytic insights, access analytic tools and methodologies to test hypotheses and generate alternative analysis, to come to analytic judgments relevant to policymakers, and to easily move between applications. By merging the individual and analyst workspace with an IC collaboration space, analysts can readily take advantage of diverse expertise, perspectives and insights of other and limit duplication of efforts, and build on existing knowledge to produce deeper, more insightful analysis. Current capabilities include access to a broad range of data, boolean search capability, individual and community workspaces, social bookmarking, collaborative document creation and sharing, and links to Intellipedia, blogs, group chat, and instant messaging.
