Office Hours gives you a chance to meet face-to-face with some of our speakers in a small group setting to discuss the speaker’s area of expertise, give feedback about their sessions, or ask questions. Office Hours take place in the Community Lounge.
Tony Parisi is an entrepreneur and career CTO/software architect. Tony is currently VP of web and open technologies at WEVR, a virtual-reality community and VR media player for aspiring and professional creatives. Over his career, he has developed international standards and protocols, created noteworthy software products, and started and sold technology companies. Tony’s passion for innovating is exceeded only by his desire to build great products.
Tony is a pioneer in virtual reality, as well as the cocreator of the VRML and X3D ISO standards for networked 3D graphics, and he continues to innovate in 3D technology. Tony is the co-organizer of the San Francisco WebGL Meetup and the San Francisco WebVR Meetup and a member of the Khronos COLLADA working group creating glTF, the new file format standard for 3D web and mobile applications. Tony is also the author of the O’Reilly Media books Learning Virtual Reality (2015), Programming 3D Applications in HTML5 and WebGL (2014), and WebGL Up and Running (2012).
Sanders Kleinfeld has been employed at O’Reilly Media since 2004 and has held a variety of positions, including roles on O’Reilly’s Production, Editorial, and Tools teams. Currently, he works as publishing technology engineer, maintaining O’Reilly’s XML-based toolchain for generating EPUB and Mobi formats of both frontlist and backlist titles. He also helps coordinate O’Reilly’s digital distribution efforts to electronic sales channels, and is currently assisting in R&D efforts surrounding HTML5 and EPUB 3, helping to develop next-generation ebook content for O’Reilly and its publishing partners. In his spare time, Sanders loves to read, but primarily print books. Sanders is the author of HTML5 for Publishers (O’Reilly, 2011).
Max Firtman is a mobile and web developer, trainer, speaker, and writer. Max teaches mobile HTML5 and performance trainings for top companies around the world. The founder of IT-training company ITMaster, Max is a well-known professional in the mobile web community. He blogs about mobile web platforms on Mobilexweb.com, keeps compatibility tables updated at Mobilehtml5.org, and has written many books, including Programming the Mobile Web (available in a second edition) and the recent High Performance Mobile Web, published by O’Reilly Media. He is a frequent speaker at conferences, including QCon, Mobilism, OSCON, Velocity, Fluent, Google Developer Day, JSConf, GOTO, AdobeCamp, and many other events around the world. Max has been widely recognized for his work in the mobile web community. He is an Adobe Community Professional, Microsoft IE User Agent, Nokia Developer Champion, and BlackBerry Elite, among other distinctions.
