Find out what I learned in my quest to read every single specification document published by the W3C in 2014-15.

Through a humorous and informative perusal of the W3C publication catalog, this session will provide a primer and an overview to the most exciting and innovative recent developments in web standards, with practical examples on how to leverage the latest in HTML/CSS/XML technology in web applications.

Specific areas of focus will likely include:

  • HTML Templates and the Shadow DOM
  • CSS Regions and Shapes
  • Accessibile Rich Internet Applications (ARIA)
  • Web Animations
  • Latinreq and the latest in web typography
  • XSLT 3.0/XQuery 3.1

SESSION REQUIREMENTS AND INSTRUCTIONS FOR ATTENDEES

Basic-to-intermediate knowledge of the web technology stack: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and XML.
