XO Laptop Hacks

Location: Marina Ballroom E Level: Novice

The XO laptop is small, rugged, and full of potential. It’s pretty amazing right out of the box, but with the right tweaks, you can get it to do a lot more than you’d expect. Bring your XO Laptop to this hands-on session, and learn how to do things like:

  • Install the Opera web browser
  • Hook sensors up to the XO
  • Use a flash memory card for swap memory (bring a cheap USB or SD memory card you don’t care about)
  • Request a developer key so you can install cutting-edge versions of the operating system
  • Find your way around the Terminal Activity, your window into the Unix underpinnings of the XO laptop

Bring your own questions, too, and we’ll work together to get your XO Laptop doing cool things.
