Jennifer Kolstad
Director of Interior Architecture, HKS

Jennifer Kolstad is vice president and director of interior architecture at HKS, where she works in collaboration with HKS’s practice leaders and design directors to unify architecture and interior design.

Jennifer’s interests in material innovation, integrated technology, digital design, and fabrication provide the framework for an ever-evolving studio, delivery method, and built environment. With experience as a client-side owner and operator, she considers the full equation when designing to elevate her client’s business and brand. Her global perspective is rooted in her native Canada and the many international cities where she has lived and practiced design.

Jennifer has developed a diverse international portfolio of hospitality, retail, institutional, government, and corporate interiors projects. With an emphasis on conceptually driven design and collaboration among all disciplines at the outset of the project, her objective is to deliver the big idea through “total design.” Her recent project work includes the US Bank Tower Observation Deck in Los Angeles, the Holly Hunt Dallas showroom, the Children’s Health Fetal Center in Dallas, and the YAS Hotel in Abu Dhabi.

Jennifer has a master’s of architecture from Illinois Institute of Technology and was a recipient of the SOM graduate fellowship. She is a professional member of NCIDQ and IIDA and is an associate member if the American Institute of Architects.
