2.5 billion people in the world don’t have a bank account, and billions more don’t have access to credit. These panelists will share their stories of bringing first world financial services to the unbanked in developing countries through bitcoin. This session is eligible for 1/2 Continuing Education credit from the Digital Currency Council.

Ron Hose is the co-founder and CEO of coins.ph, Philippine’s leading Bitcoin exchange. Coins.ph’s mission is to improve financial inclusion by using digital currency as a low cost gateway to banking. Prior to coins.ph, Ron was a founding partner at Innovation Endeavors, an early stage venture capital fund backed by Eric Schmidt.Ron was also the co-founder of TokBox, a consumer video conferencing company that was acquired by Telefonica. TokBox was backed by Sequoia Capital, Bain Capital, Stanford University and some of Silicon Valleys best-known angel investors. Ron holds a Bachelors and Masters degree from Cornell University, where he graduated at the top of his class. Ron is also an active investor and adviser to several Silicon Valley startups.
