NVIDIA Deep Learning Institute: Computer vision and finance training

Onur Yilmaz (NVIDIA)
9:00am–5:00pm
Sunday, April 29 through Monday, April 30
Location: Columbus Circle at Sheraton
Average rating: *****
(5.00, 1 rating)

Participants should plan to attend both days of this 2-day training course. Platinum and Training passes do not include access to tutorials on Monday.

Onur Yilmaz walks you through the fundamentals of deep learning—training neural networks and using results to improve performance and capabilities. Once you’ve learned the basics, you'll apply deep learning to finance to make predictions and exploit arbitrage.

What you'll learn, and how you can apply it

  • Learn how to train and deploying a neural network to solve real-world problems
  • Learn how to use time series financial data to make predictions and exploit arbitrage using neural networks

Outline

Day 1

Fundamentals of deep learning for computer vision

  • Implementing common deep learning workflows, such as image classification and object detection
  • Experimenting with data, training parameters, network structure, and other strategies to increase performance and capability
  • Deploying your neural networks to start solving real-world problems

Day 2

Deep learning for finance trading strategy

  • Preparing time series data and testing network performance using training and test datasets
  • Structuring and training a LSTM network to accept vector inputs and make predictions
  • Using the autoencoder as anomaly detector to create an arbitrage strategy

I am trying to get the prerequisite environment set up (and am having great difficulties). I have a BitFusion AMI EC2 instance running. I have not yet installed DIGITS. I am having problems with the CUDA install

Am I on the right track?
