Interacting with AI
Location: Beekman Level: Intermediate
Secondary topics:  Natural Language, User interface and experience

Prerequisite Knowledge

  • A working knowledge of C# (preferred) or any other programming language (Python, Java, etc.)

Materials or downloads needed in advance

  • A laptop
  • A Microsoft Azure subscription (company subscription or free trial)
  • A GitHub account

What you'll learn

  • Understand how qualitative written data can be converted into quantitative data and used for further data modeling
  • Gain hands-on experience using the Microsoft Bot Framework to expose a data model for querying by the business users outside of the data science team

Galiya Warrier and Gary Short walk you through creating a quantitative graph model from qualitative written information and demonstrate how to add a conversational frontend using the Microsoft Bot Framework.

Topics include:

  • Extracting qualitative written information from a database store
  • Extracting key data from the qualitative information using a trained named entity recognizer
  • Transforming this data into a graph data model
  • Developing a conversational frontend using the Microsoft Bot Framework to allow nontechnical users to query the graph model using natural language capabilities
