45-minute panel discussion
Patrick Lightbody of Neustar Webmetrics will moderate a panel of peers that specialize in commercial website performance optimization tools. Together, they will collectively discuss instances where negative website experiences have become an issue and what steps can be taken to optimize a website in development.
The representatives from each company will discuss best practices they have seen in their respective fields, and candidly answer questions from the audience about specific anecdotes they have experienced. Each panelist will also identify steps that a developer should check off while developing a new platform, and discuss how to best address website performance issues before a problem arises to ensure the best customer experience possible.

Patrick Lightbody, director of product management at Neustar Enterprise, is the founder of BrowserMob, a cutting edge load testing and website monitoring provider, which is now part of Neustar. Before Patrick founded BrowserMob, he was Senior Product Manager at Gomez, running the QA Solutions Product Group. Patrick also founded HostedQA, an automated web testing platform. Lewis Cirne is founder and CEO of New Relic, Inc. the leader in SaaS Application Performance Management. He is a seasoned entrepreneur, technologist, and enterprise software pioneer who founded Wily Technology in 1998. Lew served as Wily’s chief executive officer for the first four years and subsequently as its chief technical officer. He invented its flagship performance management solution, Introscope, and played a key role in Wily’s 2006 acquisition by CA, Inc. After leaving CA and prior to founding New Relic, Lew was an entrepreneur-in-residence at Benchmark.
Patrick Meenan has been working on web performance in one form or another for the last 15 years and is currently working at Google to make Chrome and the web faster.
He created the popular open-source WebPageTest web performance measurement tool, runs the free instance of it at www.webpagetest.org and can frequently be found in the forums helping site owners understand and improve their website performance.
With oversight of marketing, sales, partnerships and product management, Joshua defines Strangeloop’s strategic marketing and product direction. Joshua has more than 10 years of experience in the computer industry. He co-founded and served as president and chief executive officer of IronPoint Technology, helping lead the company to a successful acquisition by The Active Network in 2006. Josh has served as senior vice president, marketing and product development, at NTS Internet Solutions after having held senior marketing and product roles at MNK, and GRAPAD. Before entering high tech, Joshua worked with micro-finance institutions in Benin, West Africa, auditing banks and implementing financial controls. He is a Business in Vancouver Top 40 Under 40 award recipient.
Chris Haag (Cedexis Services and Operations) loves to find elegant solutions to Operational problems. Over the last 12 years he’s struggled with these problems at startups like IronPort and E2open and giant companies like Cisco Systems.
