The call for speakers is open for Velocity in New York 2016

Velocity returns to New York September 19-22, 2016. If you have an interesting success (or failure), provocative idea, practical how-to, proven best practice, or effective new approach to share, we—and our talented and technical attendees—want to hear from you.

While web operations, DevOps, and web performance will always be at the heart of Velocity, the breadth of our program continues to grow. This is reflected in this year's themes:

Financial systems: We're seeing a rapid increase in the complexity of financial systems, along with consumer demand for speed, reliability, and security. How can organizations keep pace with the complexity, especially where older, legacy systems prevail?

Performance for the people: It's not just about page-load time anymore—the focus is shifting increasingly to seamless user experiences and human interactions. Has design, or design thinking, changed the way you approach your work, products, or teams?

Measuring the right things: CPU, memory and disk monitoring are not going to tell you if users are being impacted or your business is at risk. How have you adapted your metrics and monitoring approaches, and what is working for you?

Infrastructure reimagined: Containers, microservices, "serverless" architectures...the ground is moving beneath us while we're running on it. Let's go beyond the buzzwords and hype. We're looking for people who have practical experience with microservices and/or containers and scheduling at scale.

Case studies: Last but not least, Velocity was built, and continues to thrive, based on practitioners standing on stage and telling true tales. Bring us practical stories of your experiences, both successful and not, that others can learn from.
