Today, it's the rare developer or organization that doesn't use open source software. The business case for open source is well established, the tools are both abundant and reliable, and the collective intelligence of the open source community ensures that the code is top quality and up to date. And the most compelling reason of all: with open source, you know what's in your code.
Join us at OSCON 2014 as we roll up our sleeves and dig deep into the business of open source. At OSCON, you'll encounter the open source ecosystem in its entirety—the full open source stack—exactly as you approach it in your work. You'll learn about the latest developments, add to your skills, and discover how other people are solving the same problems you're working on.
"I would definitely participate in OSCON again. Very few conferences run for 15 years and still retain the forward-thinking, fresh attitude towards technology that younger conferences have. OSCON is the exception."
"What an amazing experience! Five whole days of non stop learning about open source, don't miss it!"
"If you are a hard-core programmer, OSCON is the best conference out there. You get an opportunity to learn about everything from Python and Perl to Clojure and even hacking on keyboard controllers in C. The whole conference a non-stop hackfest, led and attended by people who truly love what they do."
"As a small business owner, I'm making a personal investment when attending a conference. OSCON delivered excellent value in content, learning, and collaboration with others. I'll be back!"
"I learned more in that one week than I learned in my past year. Living in the midwest, OSCON is a great way to get exposure to the trends of development and technology that will migrate here in the next two years."
"There is nothing more inspiring than being surrounded by companies and individuals who are on the same page as you. I came away with some new knowledge, some new ideas, but mostly just completely inspired by the whole thing."
To help support diversity and education in the technology community, while OSCON registration is open, we're raising funds for Devoxx4Kids. The goal of Devoxx4Kids is to allow children to be more creative with computers and teach them Computer Programming while having fun. To accomplish this, the Devoxx4Kids team organizes sessions where children can develop computer games, program robots, and also have an introduction to electronics. We ask that you consider joining us in supporting this worthy organization by making a modest donation when you sign up. O'Reilly Media will match those donations at the end of the conference.
