Barton George is the Director of Developer Programs at Dell and leader of Project Sputnik. Barton has been at Dell for over 3 years and previous to his current role, he served as Dell’s cloud evangelist. Before Dell Barton spent 13 years at Sun Microsystems in a variety of roles last of which as Open Source evangelist, and driver of Sun’s Linux strategy.

Barton began his professional career with a four year stint in Tokyo where he worked for Sony working with ISVs for their UNIX-based “NEWS” workstation. Born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii, he headed east for higher education and attended Williams College and Harvard Business School.
