John Igoe has over 25 years of experience in the high technology industry. He has been Dell’s executive sponsor of the OpenStack initiative since it was originally formed in 2010 and has been deeply involved in Dell’s strategy around OpenStack by leading the team that released Dell’s OpenStack Solution and developed the Crowbar technology released to the open source community.
John has held executive level positions in both Engineering and Service organizations in companies such as Banyan Systems, Wellfleet Communications, Bay Networks and Nortel. He served as a VP of Engineering developing complex routing solutions and as a VP of Global Technical Services. As VP of Services at Bay Networks John was responsible for the implementation of their Remote Management Service offering. Architecting the core systems infrastructure and building out Network Operations Centers in the US, EMEA and PACRIM areas.
Most recently, John was the Founder and CTO of SilverBack Technologies, a provider of cloud based infrastructure management software, SilverBack was acquired by Dell in 2007.
John’s initial position at Dell was as Director of Advanced Service Technology in Dell’s Services organization. In this role he was responsible for defining and architecting the technology platform for Dell’s Software as a Service offering around Modular Services. John’s most recent position is that of Executive Director of Cloud & Big Data Solutions in Dell’s Data Center Solutions group where he is leading the effort to define and build software solutions targeted at public and private clouds.
Winston Damarillo is a proven serial entrepreneur with a track record of building successful technology start-ups, including Gluecode (sold to IBM), LogicBlaze (sold to Iona) and Webtide (sold to Intalio). Prior to his entrepreneurial endeavors, Winston was a venture capital professional at Intel, having led the majority of his investments to a successful IPO. As one of the prestigious World Economic Forum Young Global Leader (YGL) honorees for 2010, Winston is working with other leaders to understand global challenges and trends to create a brighter future through the Open Cloud Initiative. Winston holds a B.S. in Industrial and Mechanical Engineering from the De La Salle University.
Russell P. Reeder is President and COO of (mt) Media Temple, Inc., a top provider of web hosting and cloud services that powers 1.5 million websites for 125,000 customers in 100 countries worldwide. He’s responsible for the (mt) brand’s overall vision and strategy, and for driving scalable growth for the recently acquired Virb.com.
A 18-year veteran of the IT field, Reeder has led numerous cutting edge companies, from entrepreneurial ventures to Fortune 500 powerhouses like Oracle and Mobil Oil. He’s steered organizations out of financial distress, led multiple turnarounds, and managed high-growth businesses that have sold for more than $1.2 billion.
His most recent success story is LibreDigital, a company whose digital publishing platform helps people find and read their favorite books, magazines, and newspapers when and where they choose. As President and CEO, Russ led LibreDigital through its sale to publishing giant RR Donnelly, helping the company rack up a client list that currently includes such world-famous brands as Apple, Barnes & Noble, HarperCollins, Simon & Schuster, The New York Times, and Sony.
Prior to that, as President, COO, and Acting CEO of NXTV, Reeder led the company to the forefront of the IPTV and IP video-on-demand industry, rebuilding its operations and boosting both efficiency and global sales.
Reeder eats complex business models for breakfast and washes them down with a big mug of social media mastery. He’s thrilled to be able to put his expertise in information technology, content distribution, mobile technology, and social commerce spaces to good use as he leads Media Temple’s 200 highly dedicated employees.
