One of the best-kept secrets of MySQL is that it has terrific support for .NET, in the form of a .NET data connector officially maintained and supported by MySQL AB as well as Visual Studio integration. In this session, we’ll take a look at tactics for building data-driven applications using .NET and MySQL. We’ll go “beyond the basics” to include real-world lessons from building .NET/MySQL sites such as Approver.com, as well as tricks and techniques for creating an application with as little hand-coded ADO.NET as possible.
We’ll also include discussion of creating a database-driven ASP.NET Ajax application, object-relational mapping strategies in .NET 2.0 as well as querying using LINQ in .NET 3.×.
