Demystifying the Market: Web Services and the Service Oriented Architecture
Adam Gross, Vice President of Developer Marketing, salesforce.com
Bill Robbins, Chief Liquidity Officer, The Stencil Group
Track: Distributed
Date: Thursday, May 16
Time: 11:15am - 12:00pm
Location: Stevens Creek
Web services enjoy more attention - if not popularity - than many other
emerging technologies. Big vendors have placed their bets, first
products are now shipping, and solutions are being deployed for
customers in the field. Many questions, however, remain as to how, where
and when this new architecture is best used.
In this joint presentation, Adam Gross of Grand Central and Brent Sleeper
of the Stencil Group provide a candid overview on the state of the
Web services market, in terms of technologies, players and customer use
cases. This presentation anchors around the discussion of Web
services in context of the Service Oriented Architectures, which
represent the lessons of different distributed computing approaches
learned over the past 10 years.
