OSCON is where the open source community gathers to celebrate achievements, spark new ideas, and map the future of open computing through collaboration, education, and connecting people with technology.

The call for speakers is open for OSCON 2016,
the open source community's annual gathering and YOU are invited.

Since 1999, OSCON has brought together talented people from diverse backgrounds who are doing amazing things with open source.

We're looking for speakers to share new techniques and approaches, proven best practices, and exceptional technical skills at OSCON 2016. No matter what your speaking experience level, if you have useful stories, fascinating information, hard-won experience, and intriguing projects or innovations to unveil, we want to hear from you. If you love open source and you want to help build the community, we want YOU to submit a talk and join us at OSCON 2016.

We need you to help OSCON attendees:

  • Go from consumer to contributor of your favorite open source projects
  • Find out how open source can be a strategic advantage for business
  • Get a handle on the latest and greatest that open source technology has to offer

Open source is now found everywhere—from the bottom of the programming stack to the very top—so we're focusing on these topics as a means to consider and solve critical, real-world problems:

  • Open source: From consumer to contributor
  • The business of open source: From project to product
  • Distributed development stack
  • In real life (IRL)
  • The new stuff
  • Security
  • Performance
  • Collaboration and community
  • Leadership
  • Architecture
  • Open hardware
  • Data, big and small

See our call for speakers for more details on the topics we're interested in and tips for creating a great proposal.
